Towne Crier

Yes, we went out to eat again!
As Kristy's parents are visiting from Virginia and mine from Germany we decided to go to the Towne Crier Steakhouse for some Chicken Fried Steak. Well, some of us liked it and some don't...just isnt' real steak, but good!

My Dad now likes to walk with a cane, as he got one for $1...need I say more?!

The Playmates!

Well, you have to be involved with my family to know the story of the "Playmates" so dubbed I beleive by Sandra! Anyway, Robin and I did set up a 'Playdate' for the Playmates and here are
some pics! I might get some more some day, but beleive me, it was fun. Neither Joe or Lorraine, nor Martin or Edith figured out what was going on.
decided that they ought to meet again. So here all the planning began. We booked the same hotel and I had to convince my parents that we were going to Amarillo because my dad alwaysAs Joe and Lorraine were going to be in Hereford and my parents were going to be in Abilene we wanted to eat at the "Big Texan". He didn't know the name of the place but that it was a place where one can eat a BIG STEAK (72 oz. in 1 hr.). I also wanted to see the Caddilac Ranch and so we were going to take on us the 5 hr car ride to Amarillo. We did stop on the way in Lubbock to do some wine tasting, all as a ruse so they wouldn't figure it all out. I never mentioned Hereford until we were going to have to drive their to check into the hotel.
As we got to town it really smelled as their was a feedlot on each side of the road with plenty of 'Steers', just imagine the smell worse then a dead skunk! My mom finally said she knew where she knew Hereford from. Annie, Robin's daughter, lives there and she sent a postcard with the address. I assured her we could look up the phone number once at the hotel. So at the hotel I called her room and told my mom that plans had changed and to please come down and we would go to meet some of Dan's clients first. Of course we had plans to meet our friends at their relatives house.
First we drove wrong and had to call and got picked up at the hotel and let to the place. Going in

there was funny as they had many relatives visiting and my parents got really confused, especially when they realized someone looked like their friend Art. Then of course they saw Joe & Lorraine, Annie, Art & Robin. As Joe & Lorraine had no idea either they were just as surprised to see Dan and me and my parents.

We spend some fun hours together at Annie & James's house and then went to the hotel where we slept and all had breakfast in the morning.

Had to take a picture of the "only cow that kept still for us"!

Then Annie took us to see her classroom at the high school.

Then out to the cotton fields to see James and his Dad and to get a lesson in planting and shearing (?) cotton. This was fun.

After this great day we had to head another 5 hrs back to Abilene!

The Trip to Amarillo!

First Stop: Llano Estacado! Wine Tasting! In Lubbock!

Second Stop: Big Texan in Amarillo. Home of the Free 72 oz. Steak!
(If you can eat it in 1 hr, by yourself)
We saw a whole family eat it, No, we didn't order it!

Third Stop: Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo!

So far so good! There will be more this afternoon, but some of us have to work!

Still Thanksgiving!

What fun we had on Thanksgiving Day. Just hung around all day!

We needed to check the paper for Fridays sales. And we had company for dinner!
With good conversations! After which we (the Lady's) cross stitched. Sorry, but the guys watched TV and didn't think to take pictures of us :-)

Friday was leftover day. So, after shopping, no, not at 5 am, but at 8 am, we had lunch and dinner consisted of leftover chocolate cheese cake! (inbetween cross stitching)!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from the Bush's!

Yes, we are at it again. It seems on my posts I always have to talk about food! Well, it is a part, big part, of my life. I love food!

Anyway, got up at 5:30 and put the turkey in. It is a big 23 pounder! Want to come and share it with us? It has been in the oven a little over an hour and the whole house smells like turkey. What fun is that?

In this picture you can see who is awake at 6 in the morning. Not one male in view!!!

So, cross stitching early in the morning. Sitting on the computer and updating blog, reading e-mail, and no man to bother us...we do hear them snore, and they say they don't!

I'll take more pictures and send them on later today.

Have a fun Turkey Day!

Tuesday is stitching day!

Yes, every Tuesday after work I meet with some friends and we cross stitch, how else could I get it all done?!
Today we spend all day at my house and I served lunch too. As my mom is visiting she gets to stitch with us. And we did it all day. Boy did we go. But, of course, we also have plenty of conversations and cake and coffee :-)

One update!

Okay, so we went to Austin last weekend. Dan went to meetings, and Tiffany met Jason and me and we went shopping at the new outlet mall in Round Rock. Tiffany's mom also came and I wasn't the only 'adult' around. Did we buy much? No, I just bought one pot and a cookie cutter. What a shame! When Dan came from his meetings I already had checked into the hotel and we had decided to go to the Saltgrass Steakhouse. What a good decision that was. Tiffany's parents met us there and we had some good steaks and good company. We were going to a movie afterwards, but that didn't happen either as we spend way too much time eating.

Walking in the Park

After sitting in meetings all day Kristy had the idea to go to the Park and walk. Of course we were going to take the dogs, all three of them. Dan has to go along as I don't want to be responsible for Jaeger all by myself (and poop pick up is not my thing either :-)).
So, we did go for a walk, Kristy and her ladies went twice around, but Dan only does one, and I was beeing nice and also only went once. Actually we went 1 1/2 times and decided to take some pictures of Jaeger. By the time Kristy was done we were at the car already also waiting for her ladies as I wanted to take pictures of Jaeger with the girls. That is easier said then done though! But here are the results:

And who is waiting for the snack?
