Watching the last episode of Top Chef the one lady made a Gorgonzola Cheesecake. I said to Dan I had to look up that recipe as it sounded interesting. A few minutes later the phone rings and Jason is on the other end. I knew right away what he wanted and this weekend we made it!
So, here we are stirring the first pots! Grapes are boiling on the back burner. I am stirring the sugar and water, and Jason is working on the Gorgonzola and Whip Cream
Next Jason gets to poor the caramel sauce out to cool.
He thinks the stuff is interesting looking, and he dips his finger in the middle, it is already hardening at the edges. Well, he was surprised when he burned his finger!
Then we have to break the Caramel and chop it up with the walnuts.
Well, we are almost there! All the stuff that needed to be pureed, has been pureed! We decide to run to the movies first and see the new Indiana Jones movie, just to find out that the shows at 6:30, 6:45, and 7:00 p.m. are all sold out. We buy our tickets for the 9:30 show!!!(can I even stay up that late???)))
Back home we pack up Jason's car so he can leave early tomorrow, and then we go ahead and serve our 'dessert'! Now we can't just serve it without decorating the plates. As I don't have any fancy plates as they do on Top Chef my everyday dishes will have to do.
Here is our master piece!
And, yes, we will be eating it, but first one more picture while we are healthy, and then we'll video Jason while he takes his first bite...you'll have to stay tuned for that video blog tomorrow! :-) As the saga coninues!
